GALATIANS 6
DR. BILL RICE III
Dr. Rice preached the message. These are my notes taken
while I was listening. – Pastor Rick Jackson
Whatever you sow, good or bad, you reap. If you sow temporal
things [even good or neutral] you will reap temporal results. Verse 9 talks
about this from the positive viewpoint (“well-doing”) though it is more often
than not preached in the negative [that while true, is NOT the emphasis of this
verse].
2 examples:
1] Luke 6:38 “Give and it shall begiven unto you”
The “giver” will always be able to. – Wil Rice
2] Heb. 10:25 Verse 24 “And let us consider one another to
provoke unto love and to good works” is the “WHY” for verse 25 “Not forsaking
the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting
one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
You don’t go to church to GET a blessing, you go to church
to BE a blessing and if you go to be a blessing you will be blessed.
In Eph. 5-6 notice God always talks to the one under
authority first. He talks to the wives then the husbands. He talks to the
children first and then the parents, He talks to servants first and then the
masters.
Eph. 6:1-3 is teaching that no child that obeys will die
from disobedience.
Someone has said, “Submission is the wife ducking so God can
deck the husband” [1 Peter 3:1-3].
