It’s okay to
love the right things and hate the wrong things. God is a God of love but God
also hates. What God hates we should likewise hate. Here are a few things God
hates. This is not an exhaustive list.
I. GOD
HATES IDOLS [Dt.
16:22, 1 Cor. 8:1-7, 10:18-21]
Neither
shalt thou set thee up any image; which the LORD thy God hateth.
II. GOD
HATES WICKEDNESS/INIQUITY [Ps. 45:6-7, Heb. 1:8-9]
-Thy throne,
O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath
anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
-But unto
the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of
righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and
hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of
gladness above thy fellows.

HATES EVIL HEARTS/FALSE OATHS [Zech. 8:16-17, Gen. 6:6-8]
-These are
the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour;
execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates: And let none of you
imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for
all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.
-And God saw
that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination
of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the
LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And
the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the
earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air;
for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of
the LORD.
