MARK 3:1-5
Pastor Rick
Jackson
I. THE
ANGER OF JESUS [Mk. 3]
1. Their
Whole Goal was to Use Jesus’ Compassion to Accuse Him [v. 1-2]
2. Jesus,
Applied the Scriptures, Making it a Matter of the Second Great Commandment [v.
3-4, 12:31]
Mark 12:31
And the second is like, namely this , Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
There is none other commandment greater than these.
3. Jesus
Showed Compassion to the Man, Anger to the Hard-hearted [v. 5-7, Ephesians 4:18]
Having the
understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the
ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
II. THE
DISPLEASURE OF JESUS [Mark 10:13-16]
1. The Bible
has Much to Say About Keeping Children from Jesus, none of it good [v. 13-14]
Matthew
18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto
you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which
is in heaven.
Matthew
18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of
these little ones should perish.
Mark 9:42
And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is
better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast
into the sea.
Luke 17:2 It
were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast
into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
2. This Word

against the two brethren.

the kingdom of God.

3. Jesus,
Despite His Displeasure with the Disciples, Blessed the Children [v. 14-16]
III. THE
WRATH OF JESUS [Rev. 6:16-17]
1. The Wrath
of Jesus Starts Being Felt by the World During the Tribulation [6:16-17]
2. The Wrath
of Jesus is the Same as the Wrath of God [Revelation 11:18, 14:10, 16:19, 19:15]
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath
everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the
wrath of God abideth on him.
Romans
1:18 For the wrath
of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of
men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Romans
2:5 But after thy
hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day
of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
Rm. 2:8 But unto them that are contentious,
and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath
3. The
Believer Has Been Saved from this Wrath By Christ

5:9 Much more then,
being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus,
which delivered us from the wrath to come.
