GENESIS 6:1-8

I. JUST
THE FACTS
1. The Fact
is-if anyone found Grace it means Grace was Available [v. 8, Titus 2:11]
For the
grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men
2. The Fact
is-if anyone found Grace it means Grace was Obtainable [v. 8, Hebrews 11:1-2, 32,
39, 1 Pt. 2:10, 2 Pt. 1:1]
-Now faith
is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by
it the elders obtained a good report.
- And what
shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak,
and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
-And these
all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
-Which in
time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not
obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
-Simon
Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained
like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour
Jesus Christ:
3. The Fact
is-if anyone, any sinner, found Grace it means Grace was Universal [v. 8, Titus
2:11, 1 John 2:2, 4:10]
-And he is
the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of
the whole world.
-Herein is
love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the
propitiation for our sins.
II.
ADJUST YOUR FOCUS
1. The
Source of Grace is the LORD [v. 8, 1 Peter 5:10-12]
-But the God
of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after
that ye have suffered a while , make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle
you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. By Silvanus, a
faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly , exhorting, and
testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.
2. The
Salvation of Grace is of the LORD [v. 8, Jonah 2:9] Salvation is of the LORD.
3. The
Service of Grace is in the LORD [v. 8-13, Heb. 11:7] Note that the ark was for
their good & God’s glory!
- By faith
Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared
an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and
became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
III.
JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH
1. For the
Individual [v. 8, Heb. 11:7, Rm. 5:1]
-By faith
Noah
- Therefore
being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2. For the
Family [v. 8-18, Heb. 11:7]
- By faith
Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear,
prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the
world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
3. For the
Future [v. 8-22, Heb. 11:7] “by the which he condemned the world”
