HOW THINK YE?

Matthew 18:12 How think ye?

Pastor Rick Jackson

I. THINK CLEARLY

1. Think Clearly about Yourselves [Matthew 3:9]

And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
Luke 13:4-5 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly , according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
2 Corinthians 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
Galatians 6:3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

2. Think Clearly about Christ [Matthew 22:42]

Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David.
Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Matthew 9:4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

3. Think Clearly about God's Will [Matthew 21:28-31]

But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.  He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

II. THINK CLEAN

1. Think Clean About Your Mind [Philippians 4:8]

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

2. Think Clean About Your Body [Rm. 12:1-2, 1 Cor. 6:9-20, Job 31:1]

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?

3. Think Clean About Your Spirit [1 Cor. 6: 20]

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

III. THINK COMPASSIONATELY

1. Think of the Worth of a Single Soul [Matthew 18:12]

How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

2. Think of the what God can do for every lost person [1 Cor. 6:9-11]

3. Think of what God can do for every Saved John 10:10]

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
