I. SOME COME TO JESUS IN FAITH [v. 2-15]
1. The Unclean Worshipper [v. 2-4]
2. The Unlikely Believer [v. 5-13]
3. The Unwell Server [v. 14-17]
II. SOME COME TO JESUS IN CONFUSION [v. 16-22]
1. Confusion of His Purpose [v. 16-18]
2. Confusion of His Price [v. 19-20]
3. Confusion of His Priority [v. 21-22]
III. SOME COME TO JESUS IN FOOLISHNESS (needless fear)
[v. 18, 23-27]
1. Living by Faith means trusting God in every Situation [v.
23-27, Matthew 8:26]
[not the first time this had happened] And he saith
unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked
the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
Mark 4:40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how
is it that ye have no faith?]
2. Living by Faith means taking God at His Word [v. 23-26, 18;
Romans 11:20, Hebrews 11:7]
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou
standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as
yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which
he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
3. Living by Faith means trusting the God of the Word over
the Situation of the World [Heb. 11:27, 2 Chr. 19:9, Rev. 2:10]
By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the
king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of
the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold,
the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye
shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give
thee a crown of life.
