ACTS 15:39
Pastor Rick
Jackson
I. THE
FRIENDSHIP WAS INITIATED BY GODLY ACTIONS
1. Barnabas was
a Levite on the Right Side of the Road [Luke 10:32, Acts 4:36-37]
-And
likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed
by on the other side.
2. Barnabas
was a Friend of the Lord’s Followers [Psalms 119:63, Acts 9:26-29]
-I am a
companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts
3. Barnabas
was a Friend to New Christians [Acts 11:19-24]
II. THE
FRIENDSHIP WAS BLESSED BY GOD
1. God Helped
Barnabas Find Saul [Matthew 7:7-8, Acts 11:24-27]
Ask, and it
shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto
you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to
him that knocketh it shall be opened
2. God
Blessed Their Ministry Together [Acts 11:27-30, 12:25-13:1-4]
3. God
Blessed Them Even Amidst Persecution [Acts 13:49-50, 14:1-4]
III. THE
FRIENDSHIP NEED NOT MAINTAIN ITS STRENGTH
1. The Stood
Together for the Gospel [Acts 15:1-3, 12, 33-35]
2. They Had
a Disagreement about Personnel [Acts 15:36-39a]
3. The Work
of God Continued Despite a Changed Friendship [Acts 15:39-41]
