[Rightly Dividing the Great White Throne Judgment]
REVELATION 20:12-13
Pastor Rick Jackson
I. BOOKS OF PERSONALIZED INFORMATION [V. 12]
1. No More Secrets [Luke 8:17] For nothing is
secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not
be known and come abroad.
Luke 12:2 For there is nothing covered, that shall
not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
Hebrews 4: 11-13 Let us labour therefore to enter
into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. For the
word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and
marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is
there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked
and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
2. What has been “Heard”
[Luke 8:18] Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him
shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which
he seemeth to have.
Luke 12:47-48 And that servant, which knew his lord's
will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be
beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of
stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given,
of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they
will ask the more.
3. What has been said [Matt. 12:36-37] But I
say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give
account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be
justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Luke 12:3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in
darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear
in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
4. Hypocrisies [Luke 12:1-2] Beware ye of the
leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. For there is nothing covered, that
shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
5. Thoughts [Matt. 5: 21-22] Ye have heard that it
was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill
shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry
with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and
whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council:
but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
5:27-28 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old
time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever
looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already
in his heart.
II. BOOKS OF WORKS [v. 12-13]
1. Books of Works [v. 12-13] including the
personalized information already noted
2. Books of Injustices to God’s People [Ps. 56: 4-8]
In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what
flesh can do unto me. Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are
against me for evil. They gather themselves together, they hide themselves,
they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul. Shall they escape by iniquity?
in thine anger cast down the people, O God. Thou tellest my wanderings: put
thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?
III. THE BOOKS THAT MAKE THE DIFFERENCE
1. THE BIBLE [John 5:45-47] Do not think that I will
accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom
ye trust. For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of
me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
12:48-50 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my
words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall
judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father
which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should
speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak
therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
Rm. 2:11-16 For there is no respect of persons with
God. For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and
as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; (For not the
hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be
justified. For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the
things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto
themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their
conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or
else excusing one another ;) In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men
by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
Gal. 3:10-12 For as many as are of the works of the
law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth
not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that
no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The
just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth
them shall live in them.
