NEW TESTAMENT ADVENTURES OF OLD TESTAMENT HEROES #1
Pastor Rick Jackson
LUKE 13:28-29
I know that most of you are aware that many Old Testament
saints are mentioned in the New Testament. Many times, they are quoted, or,
referred to in past tense, or, referred to in future tense as in our opening
text. But there are several times that Old Testament heroes have New Testament
adventures. Right off hand I can think of 4 but there may be more which will
require further study. As the title indicates, the first message in this
mini-series is about Abraham.
There are times when someone will call me on my cell phone using
“face time” – that is, they can see me, and I can see them. During this
pandemic, teachers have been skyping their students which is a form of face
time. It can be done on phones, computers, tablets and various other devices
but all of these new-fangled means are old hat when we see in Luke 16 when
Abraham was “face timed” by the rich man. Abraham was in Heaven and the rich
man was in Hell. The curtain was drawn back for us to get this glimpse of the generally
unseen but very real supernatural locations by none other than the Lord Jesus
Christ Himself.

individual sinner
3. “There is a way to keep a man out of hell, but there is
NO way to get a man OUT of hell.” - Walter Lewis Wilson, M.D.

bodies of the damned [v. 24, Rev. 19:20, 20:10]
6. Salvation is a “this life” situation [v. 26, Jn. 8:21] Then
said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in
your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come
