Psalm 11:3 If the
foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
Pastor Rick Jackson
I. FOR THIS I HAVE
JESUS [v. 1-2]
1. They Want Us to Flee [v. 1b]
2. They Want Us to Fear [v. 2a]
3. They Want Us to Fall [v. 2b]
BUT I SAY "FOR THIS I HAVE JESUS" [v. 1a] “trust” means
to flee for protection; figuratively, confide in:--have hope, make refuge,
(put) trust.
II. FOR THE
IMPOSSIBLE THERE IS NO JUSTIFICATION OF FEAR [v. 3]
1. THE FOUNDATION OF CHRIST [Isaiah 28:16, Ephesians 2:20, 1
Corinthians 3:10-11]
-Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion
for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure
foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
-And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and
prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
-According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a
wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon.
But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can
no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
2. THE FOUNDATION OF THE BIBLE [2 Timothy 2:15-19,
-Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that
needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane
and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. And their
word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who
concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already;
and overthrow the faith of some. Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth
sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one
that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
3. THE FOUNDATION OF FAITH [Proverbs 10:25, Luke 6:48-49, Hebrews
11:9-10]
-As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the
righteous is an everlasting foundation.
-He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and
laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat
vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a
rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a
foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat
vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
-By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a
strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with
him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose
builder and maker is God.
III. FOR THE INFIDEL
THERE IS JUDGEMENT [v. 4-7]
1. God is Watching [v. 4]
2. God is Weighing [v. 4b-5]
3. God is Waiting [v. 6-7]
