Nehemiah 8:10 …the joy of the LORD is your strength.

 

I. THE MESSAGE OF JOY [v. 1-11]

 

1. It is a Heavenly Message [v. 9-14]

 

2. It is a Universal Message [v. 10]

 

3. It is an Evangelistic Message [v. 11, 19:10] For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

 

II. THE MASTER OF JOY

 

1. The Fountain of Joy [v. 10-11] – God come in the flesh

 

2. The Foundation of Joy [v. 10-11, Micah 5:2] – God’s Holy Word

 

3. The Fellowship of Joy [v. 10-14, 17-20]

 

III. THE MANNER OF JOY

 

1. The Joy is Verifiable [v. 15-16]

 

2. The Joy is Sharable [v. 17-18, 1 John 1:1-4]

 

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

 

3. The Joy is Non-circumstantial [v. 19-20, 10:20] We can know Him “rejoice, because your names are written in heaven” did they become rich? Get new jobs? Were they glad?
