II. THE CAUSES OF THEIR DISAPPOINTMENT [v. 18-24]

1. Jesus had not Won the Popularity Contest [v. 18-20, 2 Timothy 3:12]

Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

2. Jesus had not Met their Expectations [v. 21, Acts 1:6]

When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

3. Jesus had not Revealed Himself [v. 22-24]

III. THE CURE FOR THEIR DISAPPOINTMENT [v. 17-20, 25-53]

1. An Appreciation for what Christ has Done [v. 17-20]

2. An Assurance that Christ Does Exactly what He said he would Do [v. 25-46]

3. An Application of what Christ wants Us to Do [v. 47-53]
