ACTS 1:1-11

So many false doctrines abound concerning Christ’s return. Several cults say Jesus has already returned albeit secretly. Some say we are in the 1000 year reign of Christ right now! David Koresh claimed to be the 2nd coming of Christ. Sun Myung Moon allows his followers to say he is the second coming of Christ. But what saith the Scripture? Let’s examine firstly:

I. THIS SAME JESUS (Acts 1:11)

1. The Jesus of the passion (1:3)

2. The Jesus of the proofs (1:3)

3. The Jesus of the power (1:4-8, Mt. 28)

II. SHALL SO COME

1. He’s coming to change the saved (I Cor. 15:51-57, I Th. 4:13ff)

2. He’s coming to conquer Satan & co. (Rev. 19:11-21)

3. He’s coming to control earth (Rev. 12:5, 19:15)

III. IN LIKE MANNER (Acts 1:9)

1. He’s coming personally (Rev. 1:7)

2. Visibly (Rev. 1:7, 19:11, Jude 14)

3. Locally (Zech. 14:1-9, Acts 1:11-12)
