I. THE
FOOLISH WISE MAN [v. 1-8]
1. “Fooled”
by the World [v. 1-2, 1 John 2:15]
Love not the

love of the Father is not in him.
2. “Fooled”
by the Flesh [v. 2c-4a, Galatians 5:17]
For the
flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these
are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye
would.
3. “Fooled”
by the Devil [v. 4-8, Psalm 106:37, 1 Corinthians 10:19-20]
- Yea, they
sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,
-What say I
then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to
idols is any thing? But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice,
they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have
fellowship with devils.
II. THE
MAGNITUDE OF HIS FOLLY [v. 8-13]
1. Forsaking
the God which had Appeared unto Him [v. 8-9]
foolish to
use this to say God approves polygamy.
2. Forsaking
the Word of God [v. 10]
3. Forsaking
the Opportunity to Repent [v. 11-13]
III. THE
FRUIT OF HIS FOLLY [v. 14-43]
1. The Harassment
of Hadad [v. 14-22]
2. The
Hatred of Rezon [v. 23-25]
3. The Horror
of Jeroboam [v. 26-43]
