ACTS 9:1-6
Pastor Rick Jackson
“What must I do to be saved?” “What must I do after I am
saved?” [“What will thou have me to do?”] Two great questions. If you are a
saved individual you should realize that salvation is akin to High School
Commencement exercises. “Commencement” does not mean an end but a beginning.
Yes, the old life is over BUT now the new life has begun. When Paul got saved
he was told there were certain things he must do, certain things ahead of him,
not to be saved- that’s settled- but because he is saved!
I. LIVE A LIFE OF SERVICE
1. Devotion [v. 6-11]
2. Obedience [v. 12-18]
3. Testifying [v. 19-21] Had he not obeyed in the so-called
little things [v. 15] he would never have done the big things.
II. PREPARE FOR PROBLEMS AHEAD
1. Problems Because
of Our Former Crowd [v. 22-25]
2. Problems Because of Our Current Crowd [v. 26]
3. Problems Because
of Our Target Crowd [v. 27-29]
III. LOVE, LIVE & LAY UP [2 Tm. 4:6-8]
1. Fight the Good Fight [v. 6-7a, 1 Cor. 9:24-27]
2. Finish the Course [v. 7b, 1 Cor. 15:58]
3. Keep the Faith [v. 7c-8, Jude 3]
Don’t dip your colors. Remain loyal. Be not guilty of
treason against the King of Kings.
