 I. LESSONS FOR BACKSLIDERS [v. 1-7]

 

 1. Sin Has Consequences [v. 1-5] both natural and supernatural

 

 2. Sin Has Companions [v. 6a] distress, grief, chastisement, or punishment

 

 3. Sin Has a Cure! [v. 6b-7, 1 Corinthians 11:31-32]

For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
