I. MARTHA HAD FAITH FOR THE PAST

 

1. They Had a Personal Relationship with Jesus [v. 1-5]

2. She Had a Personal Faith in Jesus [11:20-21, 27]

3. She Believed Jesus Could Have Kept Lazarus from Dying [v. 3, 21]

 

II. MARTHA HAD FAITH FOR THE FUTURE [v. 24]

 

1. It was a Powerful Faith “I know”

2. It was a “Personal” Faith [Lazarus personally, not through children, being remembered, etc]

3. It was a ”Personified” Faith [based on Jesus’ eventual reign]

 

III. MARTHA HAD A FAITH FOR THE PRESENT

 

1. She Believed in the Power of Jesus’ Prayers [v. 22]

2. She Believed in the Permanence of Jesus’ Position [v. 25-27]

3. She Believed in the Preeminence of Jesus’ Person [v.28]

 

IV. MARY HAD FAITH FOR ALL TIMES

 

1. Mary Waited for Jesus [v. 3, 20, 28-31]

2. Mary Heeded Jesus [v. 28-31]

3. Mary Worshipped Jesus [v. 32]
