I. THE LEPERS' KNOWLEDGE [v. 11-14]

 

1. They Knew the Law [v. 11-12]

-The Law cannot help…

- The Law cannot heal…

- The Law cannot save   

Knowing the Law:

 

2. They Knew their Need [v. 13, 1 Tm. 1:16]

Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

Knowing their need:

 

3. They Knew the Source [v. 13-14]

-The Source of Healing

The Source for Mercy

The Source for Salvation

 

II. THE LEPER’S ACKNOWLEDGEMENT [v. 15-16]

 

1. He Loudly Acknowledged & gave God the Glory [v. 15]

 

2. He Lovingly Acknowledged Jesus as God [v. 16]

 

3. He Thankfully Acknowledged Jesus had Healed & Saved Him [v. 16]

 

III. THE LORD’S KNOWLEDGE [v. 17-19]

 

1. Jesus Knew the Outcome [v. 17]

 

2. Jesus Noticed the Oblivious [v. 18]

 

3. Jesus Noted the Only Thankful One [v. 18-19]

 

1 Chronicles 16:8 Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.

1 Chronicles 16:34 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
