A DIFFERENT PERSON

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Pastor Rick Jackson

I. LIVE DIFFERENT [Acts 26:1-15]

1. Live By Faith rather than by Sight [v. 1-7, Rm. 10:17]

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

2. Live By Faith rather than by Feelings [v. 8-11, Proverbs 14:12]

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

3. Live By Faith rather than by Consensus [v. 12-15, Eph. 2:2-3]

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

II. LOOK DIFFERENT

1. Reflecting a Change of Ownership [1 Cor. 6:19-20]

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

2. Reflecting a Change of Location [Phil. 3:20-21]

For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

3. Reflecting a Change of Language [Eph. 4:25, 29-32]

Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another , tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

III. LOVE DIFFERENT

1. Love the Lord [1 Corinthians 16:22]

If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.

2. Love the Lost [Romans 10:1]

Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

3. Love the Lord’s [Philemon 1:5]

Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
