Phil. 3:12-17
Sometimes we suffer from "I used to..." or "In the past, I did..." syndrome. It's not that there is anything wrong with whatever service we have rendered to the Lord in the past it's just that we would be better served by asking ourselves in respect to our service to the king of kings and lord of Lords, WHAT ABOUT RECENTLY?
I. HAVE WE PRAYED RECENTLY? [LUKE 10:2]
1. We need to get serious [James 5:16]
2. We need to get smart [Phil. 1:3-11, 2:19]
3. We need to get started [I Tm. 2:1-8]
II. HAVE WE PARTICIPATED RECENTLY?
In our local church we should be
1. Built up together [Eph. 1:1, 2:19-22]
2. Working together [Phil. 1:1, 27]
3. Comforted together [I Th. 5:8-13]
III. HAVE WE PROVIDED RECENTLY? [LUKE 12:20-21]
1. For local work [Acts 1:8] "both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea"
2. For larger work [Acts 1:8] "and in Samaria"
3. For largest work [Acts 1:8] "and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
