GALATIANS 4:13
Pastor Rick

I. THE ADMISSION
OF THE TRUTH
1. Simon
Peter’s Confession [Luke 5:8]
When Simon
Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a
sinful man, O Lord.
2. Solomon’s
Confession [1 Kings 3:7]
And now, O
LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I
am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.
3. Jesus’
Declaration [Luke 17:10]
So likewise
ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say , We
are unprofitable servants : we have done that which was our duty to do.
II. A
LITTLE SOUL-SEARCHING [Ps. 139:23-24]
Search me, O
God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any
wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
1. Acknowledge
My Fallibility & His Salvation [Ps. 103:1-4]
Bless the
LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, [bless] his holy name. Bless the
LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine
iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from
destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
2. Accept My
Sinfulness & His Mercy [Ps. 103:8-11]
The LORD is
merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not
always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. He hath not dealt with
us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the
heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear
him.
3. Admit My Limitations
and His Compassion [Ps. 103:12-15]
As far as
the east is from the west, [so] far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
Like as a father pitieth [his] children, [so] the LORD pitieth them that fear
him. For He knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we [are] dust. [As for] man,
his days [are] as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
III. A
FINAL RESPONSE [Philippians 3]
1. Focus Not
on the Failure [v. 13a]
2. Forget
the Forgiven & Forsaken [v. 13b] it’s been dealt with
3. Forge
Forth for Christ [v. 13c-17]
