FAR BETTER

Philippians 1:21-23

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour : yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

I. FAR BETTER

1. Far Better Healthiness [1 Cor. 15: 52-54]

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

2. Far Better Happiness [Psalm 16:11, Lk. 15:10]

-In thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

- Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

3. Far Better Holiness [1 Jn. 3:3]

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

II. FAR BETTER WITH

1. Far Better With Christ [1 Th. 4:16-18]

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

2. Far Better With Christians He Knows Again [Genesis 49:29, 2 Samuel 12:23,

- And he charged them, and said unto them, I am to be gathered unto my people

-But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.

3. Far Better With Christians He Knows Now [Matthew 8:11]

And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.

 

III. FAR BETTER WITHOUT

1. Far Better Without Cares [Rev. 21:4]

 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

2. Far Better Without Conflict [Rev. 21:8]

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

3. Far Better Without Corruption [Rev. 21:27]

 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

1 John 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

1 John 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

1 John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

2 John 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
