PSALM 115
Pastor Rick
Jackson
I. THE
GLORY IS GOD’S [v. 1-8]
1. Not Ours
[v. 1a]
2. For His
Mercy [v. 1b, Romans 15:9]
And that the
Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I
will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.
3. For His Reality
[v. 1c-8]
II. THE
HELP IS GOD’S [v. 9-14]
1. For Israel [v. 9, 12a, Romans 11:1-5]
I say then,
Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the
seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God hath not cast away his people
which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh
intercession to God against Israel, saying, Lord, they have killed thy
prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my
life. But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself
seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. Even so
then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of
grace.
2. For Aaron
[v. 10, 12b, 118:3]
Let the
house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
3. For Them that Fear Him [v. 11, 13-14]
III. THE
PRAISE IS GOD’S [v. 15-18]
1. Praise
Him for Creation [v. 15-16]
2. Praise
Him in this Life [v. 17]
3. Praise
Him Forever [v. 18]
