I. I USED TO BE A NORMAL PERSON – “Usta’s Gone!”
1. That Person Was Spiritually Dead [v. 1]
2. That Person’s “Lifestyle” was a “Deathstyle” [v. 2-3, Rm.
6:23]
3. That Person Did Without [v. 11-12]
II. WHAT WE ACTUALLY USED TO BE WAS “NATURAL” NOT “NORMAL” – “Usta’s Gone!”
1. The Natural Man Does Not Have the Indwelling Holy Spirit
[Jude 1:19]
- These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not
the Spirit
2. The Natural Man Does Not Have the Spiritual Insight [1
Cor. 2:14, James 3:15]
-But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit
of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because
they are spiritually discerned.
- This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual,
devilish.
3. The Natural Man Does Not Have/Will Not Have the Spiritual
Body Like Christ [1 Cor. 15:44-48, Rev. 20:6]
-There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. And
so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was
made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but
that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is
of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy,
such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also
that are heavenly.
- Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first
resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests
of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
III. WHAT I USTA BE IS NOT WHAT I AM NOW [1 COR. 6:9-11] –
“Usta’s Gone!”
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the
kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor
adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor
thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall
inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but
ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by
the Spirit of our God.
1. I Am a New Person in Christ [2 Corinthians 5:17]
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old
things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2. I Am Indwelt by the Holy Spirit [1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19]
-Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the
Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
-What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy
Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
3. I am a Citizen of a Heavenly City [Hebrews 12:22]
But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the
living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
