IF I WAS A RICH MAN

Pastor Rick Jackson

I. A MAN WHO HAD HIS RICHES BUT NOT SATISFACTION [LUKE 12]

1. He had His Own Plans, but No Regard for God [v. 16-19]

2. He had Riches, but He was not Satisfied [v. 19-20, 1 Timothy 6:17]

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

3. He needed God, but was not Interested [v. 21-31, Ps. 107: 8-9]

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

II. A MAN WHO HAD GREAT RICHES BUT NOT SECURITY [Lk. 18]

1. He Had Riches but Not Eternal Life [v. 18, 23b]

2. He Knew Who to Go to for the Answers [v. 17-21, Mk. 10:17] “came one running, and kneeled to him”

3. He knew the Commandments, but Not the One Who Gave Them [v. 22-27]

III. A MAN WHO HAD GREAT RICHES BUT NO SPIRITUAL SENSE [LUKE 16]

1. The Beggar for Crumbs [v. 19-21]

2. The Beggar for Common Comfort [v. 22-26]

3. The Beggar for Uncommon Counsel [v. 27-31]
