WHOSOEVER

JOHN 3:16

Pastor Rick Jackson

I. THE “WHOSOEVER”s OF CONDEMNATION SHOW THE NEED

1. Whosoever Breaks One Divine Law is Guilty [James 2:10]

For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

2. Whosoever Denies Christ Has Neither the Father, Nor the Son, Nor the Holy Spirit [1 Jn. 2:23, 2 Jn. 9, Rm. 8:5-11]

Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

3. Whosoever is Not Written in the Lamb’s Book of Life is Forever Lost [Rev. 20:14-15]

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

4. Whosoever Tries Justification by Law is not a Christian [Gal. 5:4]

Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

II. THE “WHOSOEVER”s OF EXPLANATION SHOW THE SOLUTION

1. Believing in Christ Determines Salvation [Jn. 3:15-18, Acts 2:21]

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

2. Believing in Christ Delivers from Sin [Acts 10:43]

To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

3. Believing in Christ Disables Shame [Rm. 9:33, 1:16]

As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

III. THE “WHOSOEVER”s OF INVITATION SHOW GOD’S WILLINGNESS & MAN’S RESPONSIBILITY

1. Whosoever Hears Should Respond [Mt. 7:24-29]

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

2. Whosoever Hears Could Believe [Jn. 3:16]

3. Whosoever Calls Will Be Saved [Rm. 10:13]

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

4. Whosoever Wills Can Take [Rev. 22:17]

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
