ACTS 10
Pastor Rick Jackson
Have you ever had a secret that really wasn’t a secret, but
people thought it was a secret because it wasn’t a well-known fact? For instance,
because my nickname is “Rick” many people assume my given name is
“Richard." I have had quite a few people act shocked when they learn my
given name, is in fact, Frederick. No secret really but some people seem to
think it was. The centurion in Acts 10 had a “secret” too, but it was not a
secret and it was something he wanted rectified. Let’s find out what it was all
about!
I. HIS STRENGTHS [v.
1-2]
1. He was Devout [v. 1-2a] He didn’t reject the idea of
God’s worthiness.
2. He Feared God [v. 2b] He didn’t reject the idea of facing
God.
3. He Prayed [v. 2c, 30-33] He didn’t reject the idea that
God would answer prayer.
II. HIS SECRETS [v.
22-27]
1. He was Lost [v. 22-23]
2. He was Ignorant [v. 24-26]
3. He was Easy to Win [v. 27, 44]
III. HIS SALVATION
[v. 6-10]
1. God is more interested in saving sinners than sinners are
in being saved [v. 3-8]
2. God has more problems with saints than sinners sometimes
[v.9-21]
3. God has provided the way of salvation [v. 36-43]
4. God has proscribed the manner of dissemination [v. 5-6,
20, 34-36]
