STAYING RIGHT

I. BE RIGHT [v. 1-4]

1. Advance the Quality of Kindness [v. 1-2, Eph. 4:32] “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted…”

2. Avoid the Questioning of Motives [v. 3, Rm. 14, Matthew 7:1] “Judge not, that ye be not judged.”

3. Anticipate the Quarrel of Meanness [v. 4,  Matthew 5:25]

Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

II. THINK RIGHT [v. 5-11]

1.  Exercise Empathy [v. 5]

2. Exclude Stinkiness [v. 6] 

3. Employ Strategy [v. 7-11]

III. DO RIGHT [v. 12-19]

1. Encourage the Right [v. 12, 1 Corinthians 16:13] “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.”

 

2. Fight Fear with Faith [v. 13-16, Mark 4:40]

 

“And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?”

 

3. Conquer for Christ [v. 17-19, 1 Timothy 6:12]

 

“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”
