"How Shall We Live" til He comes?

The parable of the Nobleman

"For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." While they were listening to these things, Jesus went on to tell a parable, because He was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that the kingdom of God was going to appear immediately. So He said, "A nobleman went to a distant country to receive a kingdom for himself, and then returned. "And he called ten of his slaves, and gave them ten minas and said to them, 'Do business with this until I come back.'" Luke 19:10-13.

The parable is about Christ

He came into a far country, our world, and gave to each of us, his servants, an equal amount and said, "Occupy or trade or put it to use tiI I come again." Jesus instituted the "equal opportunity act" two thousand years ago. We each have the identical amount of time. The richest man alive cannot buy one minute more than you and I have. We are to put to use, our pound, in our time to ultimately "seek and save" (vs. 10) the lost! That is the whole context of this passage. Doesn't that make sense?

When He comes, we shall rule with Him-fantastic. The servant who put to use his pound gained 10 pounds and was "to have authority over ten cities." The one who gained five pounds was to have authority over five cities. The one who did nothing with what he was given was called "a wicked servant," lost what he was given and reprimanded severely. It is going to make a lot of difference during the reign of Christ and eternity, what we do after we are saved down here.

O dear people, God did not leave us here to "serve our time," or "to endure to the end" or "to wait til He comes" but to put to use what God has given us so that everyone we have a moment with has a chance to go to heaven just as someone gave us a chance to go to heaven. "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men" Matt. 4:19. "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses " Acts 1:8. Doesn't that make sense? We will be glad we witnessed to the lost when He does come and terribly sorry if we don't!

One of you

A lady wrote me and I sent it on to you, how she led her friend to Christ and said she got the urge through these emails. Now, she just wrote again and has led another lady to Christ. She thanked me for keeping witnessing on the front burner.

Prayer: Father, thank You that someone obeyed You and got the gospel to each of us. Help us to obey You and get the gospel to our friends and loved ones. In Jesus name.

And I love you, all because the Lord Jesus suffered and died for our sins, paid our debt in full and rose again so we can be forgiven and go to heaven, sumner. Do you believe that alone for your salvation? Believe and receive Him right now. "He that has the Son, has life"
