CONSIDER HIM

Pastor Rick Jackson*

1 Samuel 12:24 Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart;: for consider how great things he hath done for you.
Job 23:15 Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.
Job 34:27 Because they turned back from him, and would not consider any of his ways:
Isaiah 52:13-15 Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high. As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.
Hebrews 12:3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

So the Word of God tells us many times to “consider” Him. To think on Him, to know Him, to keep our focus on Him!

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

What are some characteristics of Jesus that set Him apart from others?

1. He was never defeated in Controversy [Matthew 22:46]

2. He was never caught Unawares [Mark 10:32-34]

3. He never showed Personal Fear [Lk. 8:22-25]

4. He never asked for Advice [Jn. 2:25]

He asked in order to teach- not in order to decide what He should or should not do.

5. He never performed a Useless miracle [Jn. 5:36]

Luke 23:8 And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him.
