PRECIOUS

JEREMIAH 15:19

The Bible speaks of many precious things that we also call precious… precious stones and metals, precious jewels, and even precious fruits of the earth. There are some other things that God says are precious that we ought take heed of ourselves.

I. THE PRECIOUS WORD OF GOD [1 Sam. 3:1]

1. Precious because of Salvation [Ps. 126:5-6, Rm. 1:16, 1 Cor. 15:1-4ff.]

2. Precious because of Inspiration [Ps. 139:17, Isaiah 55:8, 2 Tm. 3:16-17]

3. Precious because of Expectation [2 Pet. 1:4]

II. THE PRECIOUS THINGS OF THIS LIFE

1. Life Itself [1 Sam. 26:21, 2 Kings 1:13-14, Ps. 72:14]

2. Godly Wisdom [Pr. 3:13-15ff, 20:15]

3. A Good Name [Eccl. 7:1]

III. THE PRECIOUS THINGS OF ETERNITY

1. God’s Person [Is. 28:16, 1 Pet. 2:4-7, 1:19]

2. God’s Provision [Ps. 49:8, Eph. 2:6-7ff, 1 Pet. 1:7, 2 Pet. 1:1]

3. God’s People [Ps. 116:15, Is. 43:1-4, Lam. 4:2]
