LUKE 2:8-15

I. THOSE THINGS THE SINNER SHOULD EXPERIENCE [v.8-12]

1. Fear in the Light of God’s Glory [v. 8-9, Rm. 3:23]

2. Joy in the Light of God’s Grace [v. 10]

3. Response in the Light of God’s Goodness [v. 10-12, Jn. 1:11-12] “you”

II. THOSE THINGS JESUS MANIFESTED [v. 11-12]

1. His Humanity [v. 11-12, Mt. 22:41-46]

2. His Anointed Position [v. 11] over 530 verses refer to this in the NT alone

Luke 2:26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
Luke 3:15 And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not;
Luke 4:41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.
Luke 9:20 He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.
Luke 20:41 And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David's son?
Luke 22:67 Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:

III. THOSE THINGS WE SHOULD UNDERSTAND [v. 13-15]

1. God Deserves Praise [v. 13]

2. God Deserves Glory [v. 14, 1 Corinthians 10:31]

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

3. God Gives Undeserved Grace [v. 14]
