THE SECRETS ARE OUT!

Exodus 36

Pastor Rick Jackson

I. THE SECRETS ABOUT TALENT [v. 1-4]

1. All Talents are God-given [v. 1]

1 Corinthians 4:7 For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?

2. All Talents are to be used for God's Glory [v. 1-2]

1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

3. All Talent is to be God-directed [v. 3-4]

1 Corinthians 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
Romans 12:8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
1 Thessalonians 5:12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
1 Timothy 5:17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

II. THE SECRETS ABOUT GIVING [v. 5-8ff.]

1. Some Projects have a Cut-off Point [v. 5]

2. God Loves a Generous Spirit [v. 6-7]

2 Corinthians 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
2 Chr. 6:7-8 Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel. But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:

3. God's Work must be done God's Way [v. 8ff]

1 Chronicles 15:2 Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.

III. THE SECRETS ABOUT THE TABERNACLE [v. 8-38]

1. The Linen Curtains [v. 8-13]

"This was the covering of all the Tabernacle. it was the covering that went on the articles of furniture first when they went out on the wilderness march. It was the fence outside. This fine... linen speaks of the righteousness of Christ. It speaks of His character and His work. It speaks of the righteousness that He provides for us so that we might be clothed to stand in God's presence. The important thing to notice is that Christ is adequate to meet our needs. He is able to save us. He is able to deliver us. He is able to keep us." - J. Vernon McGee
