WHEN A CHRISTIAN SINS

Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

I. RESULTS OF A CHRISTIAN'S SINS

1. IT DAMAGES THE BRETHREN [Gal. 2:11-14]

2. IT DISHONORS THE LORD [2 Samuel 12:7-13]

3. IT DELIGHTS THE DEVIL'S CROWD [2 Samuel 12:14]

II. THE RESPONSE TO OUR OWN SIN

1. IF PERSONAL, CONFESS IT PRIVATELY TO THE LORD [PR. 28:13, I JN. 1:9]

2. IF PRIVATE, CONFESS IT PRIVATELY TO THE OFFENDED [Matthew 5:23-24]

Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

3. IF PUBLIC, CONFESS IT PUBLICLY [MT. 5:23-24, I Cor. 5, II Cor. 2:1-11]

III. THE RESPONSE TO OTHER'S SIN
