Titus 1:1-4
Often we get the idea that God's grace is just for the lost. We may not say it quite so bluntly but we often act that way. And yet here we find Paul writing to a Christian, a preacher at that, and he extends the blessing of GRACE towards him. "When Paul wrote his letters to the church, he always started with the doctrine of grace and closed with the duty of grace." [Chaplain John Downs] What are some of the works of grace?
I. GRACE BRINGS UNLIMITED SALVATION [2:11]
1. It is open to all [v. 11]
2. It offered by God the Son [2:13-14]
3. It involves the entire Trinity [1:4, 3:4-6]
II. GRACE BRINGS UNDENIABLE INSTRUCTION [2:11-12a, 15]
1. Recipients of grace should live lives of denial [2:12]
2. Recipients of grace should live lives of approval [2:12]
3. Recipeints of grace should live lives of expectancy [2:13]
III. GRACE BRINGS UNENDING MOTIVATION
1. To live like a changed man [3:1-7]
2. To live like a charged man [3:8-10, 14]
3. To live like Christ's man [II Cor. 12:7-10]
