I. MISSING MORE THAN A SERVICE [v. 19-23]

 

1. Missing the Blessing of Jesus [v. 19]

 

2. Missing the Joy of Jesus [v. 20]

 

3. Missing the Words of Jesus [v. 21-23]

 

II. RESULTS OF MISSING [v. 24-25]

 

1. Fellowship was Weakened [v. 24, 1 Jn. 1: 7]

 

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another , and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

 

2. Faith was Weakened [v. 25b, 2 Corinthians 5:7] (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

 

3. Unbelief was Strengthened [v. 25c, Heb. 11:6] But without faith it is impossible to please him:’

 

III. RESTORATION FOR MISSING [v. 26-29]

 

1. Restoration takes Time [v. 26]

 

2. Restoration takes the Word of God [v. 27]

 

3. Restoration takes Rebuke [v. 28-29, 2 Tm. 3:16]
