MT. 22:41-46

I. PHYSICALLY- HE WAS THE SON OF MARY [Mt. 1:18]
1. She was a Virgin [Lk. 1:26-33, 43]
2. His body was especially prepared [Heb. 10:4-5, 11;3,
13:21]
3. She was/is NOT the mother of God [Micah 5:2]
4. He was Christ from Conception [Ps. 22:9-10]
II. LEGALLY- HE WAS THE SON OF JOSEPH
1. Joseph, His Stepfather was considered His parent [Lk.
2:21-27, 39-49]
2. Joseph, His Stepfather, gives Him the right to David’s
throne [Mt. 1:1, 15-25]
3. Mary, His mother, was also of the line of David [Lk.
3:23, 31, 34, 38]
III. POSITIONALLY- HE’S THE SON OF GOD [Lk. 3:22, Mt.
3:16-17]
1. He has always been Equal with God [Jn. 1:1-3, Phil.
2:5-6]
2. He emptied Himself of that Position [Phil. 2:7ff, Jn.
14;28]

3. He was, is, and always has been God [Col. 1:12-20]
Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did
predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the
firstborn among many brethren.
Hebrews 1:6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten
into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
Hebrews 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the
firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the
spirits of just men made perfect,
