GEN. 4:1-10
Pastor Rick Jackson
I. THE BLOOD CRIES OVER
SIN!
1. The Blood Cries Over Disappointment [v. 1, 6-7, 9-10]
2. The Blood Cries Over Defiance [v. 4-9]
3. The Blood Cries Over Death [v. 10, Matthew 23:35]
That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the
earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of
Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
II. THE BLOOD SPEAKS
OF SALVATION! [Hebrews 12:24]
1. It Speaks of Perfection [v. 23-24] replacing the
disappointment
2. It Speaks of Submission [v. 25] replacing the defiance
3. It Speaks of Life [v. 22-23, 28; 13:20] replacing death
III. THE BLOOD
TEACHES US GREAT DOCTRINE!
1. The Doctrine of Satisfaction [Romans 3:25]
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith
in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are
past, through the forbearance of God;
2. The Doctrine of Justification [Romans 5:9]
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall
be saved from wrath through him.
3. The Doctrine of Communion [1 Corinthians 10:16]
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion
of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of
the body of Christ?
1 Corinthians 11:25 After the same manner also he took the
cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood:
this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
4. The Doctrine of Redemption [Ephesians 1:7]
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the
forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his
blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but
by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained
eternal redemption for us.
5. The Doctrine of Proximity [Ephesians 2:13]
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are
made nigh by the blood of Christ.
6. The Doctrine of Peace with God [Colossians 1:20 And,
having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all
things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things
in heaven.
7. The Doctrine of Remission [Hebrews 9:22 And almost all
things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no
remission.
8. The Doctrine of Access [Hebrews 10:19 Having therefore,
brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
9. The Doctrine of Sanctification [Hebrews 13:12 Wherefore
Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered
without the gate.
