THE MAIN MESSAGE

1 John 1

The main message, the main truth is that God is Light and in Him is no darkness at all. You cannot walk with God while in darkness.

I. A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP IS WHAT CHRISTIANITY IS ALL ABOUT [v. 3]

Personal fellowship with God is exactly what Christianity is all about.

II. BEING CLEAN ALLOWS YOU TO BE CLOSE [v. 6-7]

v. 8 is a reality check. Remember- the New Nature NEVER sins. The Old Nature NEVER does right. The Remedy is in verse 9.

III. JESUS' BLOOD IS WHAT MAKES ALL THIS POSSIBLE

1. In the sense that His Blood provided for our salvation once for all [2:2, Heb. 10:10-12]. The Mass is in error and is an offense.

2. In the sense His Blood Helps us everyday [v. 7, 2:1, 1:9]
