“UNTO YOU” LUKE
2:1-14
Pastor Rick Jackson
I. THE TIDINGS
1. They Were “Good Tidings” [v. 10-11, Pr. 25:25] As cold
waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.
2. They Were Joyous Tidings [v. 10, 15:10] Likewise, I say
unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner
that repenteth.
3. They Were Tidings of “Good Will” [v. 14, 2 Pet. 3:9] The
Lord is… not willing that any should
perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward
you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an
expected end.
II. THE RECIPIENTS OF
THE TIDINGS
1. Shepherds [v. 8]
2. All People [v. 10, Jn. 3:16, 1 Jn. 2:2] And he is the

whole world.
3. Men [v. 14] mankind
III. THE RESPONSE OF
THE RECIPIENTS OF THE TIDINGS
1. Alarm (fear) [v. 9, Pr. 9:10] The fear of the LORD is the
beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
2. Acceptance [v. 15-16, Jn. 1:12, Eph. 2:8-9] by faith
