THE DEVIL’S DIRTY BUSINESS

 JOB 1:1-7
Pastor Rick Jackson

I. THE DEVIL’S DEAL [as in “What’s your deal?”]

1. The Devil’s Deal is Seeking [1 Peter 5:8]

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

2. The Devil’s Deal is Deceiving [2 Corinthians 11:13-15]

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

3. The Devil’s Deal is Sifting [Luke 22:31]

And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

II. THE DEVIL’S DESIRE

1. To Blind You [2 Corinthians 4:4]

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

2. To Make You Curse God [Job 1:5, 11, 2:5, 9]

3. To Make You Miserable [Job, 1 Chr. 21:1 And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.]

Matthew 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

Mark 4:15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

Luke 13:16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen  years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

Acts 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost…

2 Corinthians 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

1 Thessalonians 2:18 Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once  and again; but Satan hindered us.

III. THE DEVIL’S DILEMMA

1. Satan has been Denied Understanding by His Sin [1 Peter 1:12 he doesn’t understand obedience, Job 13:15 he doesn’t understand faith]

2. Satan has been Deluded by Himself [Is. 14;12-15]

3. Satan has been Defeated by the Saviour [Rom. 8:31-39]
