A GLANCE BEHIND THE SCENES

JOB 1

Pastor Rick Jackson

I. THE MAN [v. 1-5]

1. Job’s Person [v. 1-2]

Ezekiel 14:14 Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.
Ezekiel 14:20 Though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.
James 5:11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

2. Job’s Possessions [v. 3]

3. Job’s Pattern [v. 4-5, Daniel 6:10]

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

II. THE ADVERSARY [v. 6-12]

1. Satan is Not a “Son of God” [v. 6, Ezekiel 28:12-19, Genesis 15:3 And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.]

2. Satan is Not God [v. 7, Is. 14:12-17, 2 Chronicles 16:9]

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

3. Satan is Not Friendly [v. 8-12, Rev. 12]

III. THE WORLD [v. 13-22]

1. Is Under Satanic Influence [v. 13-16, Eph. 2:2-3]

2. Blames God for Trouble [v. 17-19, Romans 5:12, 8:22]

3. Is Not the Christian’s Home [v. 20-22, Heb. 11:13-16]
