THE JUDGMENT OF THE BELIEVER'S SERVICE [2]

Pastor Rick Jackson

THE JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST :

I. DEALS WITH PREPPING  [ROMANS 14]

1. Focus on Christ [v. 1-9]

2. Focus on Self [v. 10]

3. Focus on Pleasing Him [v. 11-13]

III. WILL CAUSE TEARS IN HEAVEN

1. Tears of shame [1 John 2:28]

And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

2. Tears of loss [1 Cor. 3:10-15]

3. Tears of Terror [2 Cor. 5:10-11]

Thank God, after the millennium God will wipe away ALL tears. Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

III. PROVIDES CROWNS FOR CHRIST

At the "Judgment Seat" we will be given "crowns" as rewards:

1. The Crown of Mastery [1 Cor. 9:25-27]

And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things . Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means , when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

2. The Crown of Witness [1 Th. 2:19]

For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?

3. For not yielding to temptation [James 1:12]

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried , he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

4. The Crown of Faithful Pastors  [1 Pt. 5:1, 4]

-The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:

-And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

5. The Crown for Loving His Return [2 Tm. 4:8]

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

We will then take these crowns to the throne, where Jesus is seated, and we cast them at the feet of Jesus in thanksgiving for what He has, is, and will do for us [Rev. 4:10-11]

The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
