I. THE GREATEST EXPRESSION

1. “For God” – the greatest Giver [John 17:3] And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

2. “So Loved” – the greatest motive indeed [Rm. 5:8, 1 Jn. 4:10] Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

3. “The World” – the greatest recipient [1:9-10, 29, 3:16-17, 4:42]

II. THE GREATEST GIFT

1. “That He Gave” – the highest action [6:32-33]

2. “His Only Begotten” – the Highest Cost [1:14, 18; 3:16, 18; 1 John 4:9] In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

3. “Son” – the Highest Personage [3:35, 5:19-27]

III. THE GREATEST RESULT

1. “That Whosoever Believeth in Him” – the power of faith [1:12, 3:15-16, 18, 36]

2. “Should Not Perish” – the power of mercy [3:15-16, 6:39, 10:28]

3. “But Have Everlasting Life” – the power of grace [1:14, 16-17, 3:15-16, 4:36, 5:24, 39; 6:40, 47]
