I was reading a story about Obama and Ebola and saw this little interaction in the comments section.
It's a good thing God never fails. -Person A
Really? So all of the people that have been killed by Ebola... that's what, exactly? A "success" by God? Not that you'll ever answer these sorts of questions. Pinhead. - Person B [makes you wonder if he is calling "Person A" a pinhead or if he is signing his work]
My thought exactly. Why interject a mythical (Or tyrannical, depending on your perspective) God into it. I am a Conservative and I am often embarrassed by fellow conservatives who can sat such gibberish as above. "The guy who thought he could make the planet heal and reverse the rise of the oceans surely trusts his own impulses enough to think he can go around laying smooches on people in a potentially compromised environment without anything going wrong for him. If there's one thing Obama trusts, it's Obama's instincts - even if there is no basis whatsoever for said trust." They point out how foolish it is to have faith in Obama but the follow it up with such crap like "God never fails". God,...the guy who kills innocent babies, commands genocide, institutionalized slavery, commanded his followers to take sex slaves and to rip babies from womens' wombs. And what is THEIR basis for having faith in THEIR "Obama" (God) ' [sic] The Pastor says he's a really cool guy and I read some neat stuff about him in a book" - Person C
Let's examine these statements in light of the Truth of God's Word [Jn. 17:17]
"Person A" was absolutely right God never fails.
Deuteronomy 31:6, 8 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.
Isaiah 34:16 Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.
Luke 16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.
"Person B" begins by showing his ignorance- never a good sign. He assumes Ebola is God's fault. God created a perfect world and put a perfect couple in a perfect environment. He gave that couple free will. The couple chose to disobey God and through their sin brought death into the world. The perfect creation was now marred by man's sin and sickness is one of the results. The fault is not God's but man's. God had already planned a perfect solution and even explained that to Adam & Eve- the seed of the woman, the virgin-born Saviour would come and redeem man and even the creation by His vicarious death on the cross and His subsequent resurrection. Creation awaits the day the curse will be lifted in God's good time. [Gen. 1-3, Romans 6-8, 1 Cor. 15].
"Person B" assumes there cannot be an answer or is willing ignorant of the same. This does not show God is wrong, it only proves that "B" is ignorant, arrogant, and sinful. [1 Peter 3:15, 2 Peter 3:5]
Then there is "Person C" who shows a wicked heart at work regardless of political affiliation. My thought exactly. Why interject a mythical (Or tyrannical, depending on your perspective) God into it. [Mythical? Psalm 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. and it is man, not God, that has done abominable iniquity.]

Would you expect a Book inspired by God to be shallow?
