What
makes certain Bible individuals stand out in our minds? What makes us look at
them in a new way? For instance, had the War Between the States not happened it
is unlikely that you would have ever heard of Thomas Jonathan Jackson, perhaps
better known to you as Stonewall Jackson. Recently I had the opportunity to read the
book of Esther again and was struck by her emergence in my mind. Let us look
together at Esther’s Emergence.
I. ESTHER’S EARLY LIFE
1. She had
been Orphaned [2:7]
2. She
had been Adopted [2:5-7]
3. She
had been Instructed [2:10]
II. ESTHER’S INNER LIFE
1. She
was still a Pleasant Person [2:9, Daniel 6:3]
2. She
was still a Pliable Person [2:15, 2 Timothy 2:2]
3. She
was still a Positive Person [2:16-18, 21-23]
III. ESTHER’S SPIRITUAL LIFE
1. She
was a Woman of Compassion [4:1-5, Eph. 4:32]
2. She
was a Woman of Courage [4:8-15, Acts 21:13]
3. She
was a Woman of Conviction [4:16-17, 1 Peter 5:5-11]
