I. WHAT WAS THE CENTURION?

 

1. The Centurion was a Man of Accomplishment [Luke 23:47, the captain of one hundred men:--centurion]

 

2. The Centurion was a Man of Authority [Luke 7:6-8]

 

3. The Centurion was a Man of Action [Acts 22:25-26, 27:1, 6, 11, 31, 43]

 

II. WHAT DID THE CENTURION SEE?

 

1. He Saw a Criminal [Luke 23:32-33, 38]

 

2. He Saw a Character [Luke 23:4, 14, 22, 34]

 

3. He Saw a Conqueror [Luke 23:37-39, 46, Jn. 19:30]

 

III. WHAT DID THE CENTURION SAY?

 

1. He said Jesus was a Righteous Man [Luke 23:47, John 17:25 “O righteous Father”]

 

2. He said Jesus was the Son of God [Mt. 27:54, Mk. 15:39]

 

3. He Glorified God with What he Said [v. 46-47, Romans 15:9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.]
