THE TABERNACLE- A PORTRAIT OF CHRIST (4)

EXODUS 28

This lesson is not on the Tabernacle proper but is on those who would be working in and around the tabernacle but the meaning has not changed. Everything about the Tabernacle pointed to the lord Jesus Christ in one way or another and the priesthood and even the garments worn by the priests is NOT an exception.

I. SERVANTS OF THE LORD [v. 1-5]

1. God calls Some to Specific Ministries [v. 1]

2. God calls Some to Use Specific Abilities [v. 2-4]

3. God calls Some to Give Specific Materials [v. 5, 25:1-9]

II. SPECIFICATIONS OF THE LORD FOR THE HIGH PRIEST [v. 6-39]

Fine Linen-the righteousness of Christ Blue=Heavenly White=perfect purity

Red=earthly/death/sacrifice Purple=royalty (as a blend of red & blue)

1. The Ephod and the girdle [v. 6-14]

2. The Breastplate [v. 15-30] Urim & Thummim (lights & perfections)

3. The Robe, Mitre, and the Coat [v. 31-39]

29:5-6 And thou shalt take the garments, and put upon Aaron the coat, and the robe of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastplate, and gird him with the curious girdle of the ephod: And thou shalt put the mitre upon his head, and put the holy crown upon the mitre

III. SPECIFICATIONS OF THE LORD FOR THE PRIESTS [v. 40-43]

1. Look Right for the Lord’s Service [v. 40]

2. Be Right for the Lord’s Service [v. 41]

3. Be Modest for the Lord’s Service [v. 42-43]
