7 TRUTHS FOR TOUGH TIMES

There is a man in the Bible that reminds us a high position doesn't guarantee you will have no trouble in your life. He reminds us that even a man who loves the Lord can fall into sin. His life shows us that having money doesn't mean having a happy home. His life is also a reminder that knowing the Truth can get you through the tough times. The man's name is David, arguably the greatest King Israel ever had. His life wasn't always a reflection of faithfulness in man, but it was proof of the faithfulness of God.

The Truth is:

1. True Christians can fall into major sin [II Sam. 11:1-5, 12-15, 26]

2. No one can sin and "get away with it" [11:27, 12:7-12]

Numbers 32:23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.

Gal. 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

3. Believers should confess their sin before God. [12:13]

I Jn. 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Pr. 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

4. A Christian's sin hurts the cause of Christ [12:14]

5. Prayers for grace are always appropriate [12:15-22]

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need

6. Young children go to Heaven at death [12:23]

7. Sinning Christians don't lose their salvation though they lose other things [12:23]

Ps. 51:10-13 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
