Ezekiel 14:14-20, Mk. 13:14
I. A YOUTH WITH PURPOSE
1. He purposed in his head (v. 1-4)
2. He purposed in his heart (v. 5-8)
3. He purposed in his humility (v. 9-16)
II. A MAN WITH PRINCIPLES
1. He had the right kind of friends (1:11, 17; 2:13-18)
2. He had the right kind of faith (1:12)
3. He had the right kind of faithfulness (6:1-5, I Co. 4:1-2)
III. A MAN OF PRAYER
1. He prayed courageously (6:10)
2. He prayed consistently (6:10, I Th. 5:17, Lk. 18:1)
3. He prayed confidently (6:10, 2:19-23) Gave thanks as he prayed (6:7)
The story is told of a Christian man who praised the Lord he was robbed. He was asked how he could thank the Lord for being robbed. He replied, "I thank the Lord that I have never been robbed before, that though they took my money they did not take my life, and I thank God that I was the one being robbed and not the one doing the robbing."
